US Capitol Tree
The tree, a White Spruce measuring 88 feet tall and weighing some 13,000 pounds, was cut from the Chippewa National Forest and will be starting a 2,000-mile, 30-city tour before it arrives in Washington, D.C. It will be placed on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building. The Christmas tree made its first public appearance on Sunday, Nov. 2, at Itasca State Park at the Lake Itasca Region Pioneer Farmers Show Grounds near the north entrance to the park
