The Friends are investigating the possibility of restoring this historic structure, Building #79.The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places:
“The Staff Headquarters building is a 30’4″ rectangular structure built with full log palisade walls. The joints between the logs are caulked with oakum. The building is covered with a hip roof while a projecting entrance is covered with a gable roof. Four light casement sash have been removed. Frame walls divide the interior into four rooms.
In 1938 the building was reconditioned for group camp use. This structure is the only building in the state park system with full log palisade walls which form both the interior and exterior wall surfaces.”
